Roofline Clearance for a Bigleaf Maple

Pruning

Branches lifted off a roof without overcutting

Beaverton, OR (demo)

The Challenge

Several limbs of a bigleaf maple were resting on the roof and filling gutters with debris every autumn.

The Plan

We planned clearance pruning from the roof side, using rigging to lower limbs away from the gutters and siding.

The Work

The crew removed selected limbs back to suitable unions and cleaned the gutters of fresh debris from the work.

The Result

The roof has clear space around it, and the tree keeps a balanced crown. We suggested a follow-up check in two to three years.
